Org Chart Feature Release

Org Chart Feature Release

July 2021

We've just released the BETA of the Org Chart!

For now, the org chart is only enabled for OneDirectory admins. If you're an admin you'll see an Org Chart link in your sidebar, and a View in org chart button at the top of any profile (above the manager/direct reports) - if that profile has a manager or any direct reports.

We'll be reaching out to all OneDirectory admins individually (via email) to get your feedback on the new feature 😊

September 2021

The OneDirectory org chart version 1 is now live 🥳✨

Thank you to all our BETA testers who gave us feedback and helped us make it great 🙏

By default, the org chart is disabled; you can enable it in the settings if you'd like to make it available to everyone in your organization. Once enabled, the link to the org chart displays in the left sidebar, and you'll see a "View in org chart" button at the top right of every profile.

You'll need to specify a root node for the starting point of the org chart, which can be set to your company's CEO for example. You can find this in the settings.

October 2021

We've released one of the most highly requested features in OneDirectory: an organizational chart, more commonly known as an org chart.

As you probably know, you can currently browse your organizational hierarchy on the employee profiles in OneDirectory, but only "up and down."

Our new org chart is a fully functional organizational chart that lets you zoom, scroll, pan, search, and visualize your reporting lines in a really simple way.

Of course, the org chart uses the profile information in OneDirectory (which comes from your Azure AD) to build the org chart structure. Specifically, it uses the Manager field to associate profiles together.
